Froggie...!

Had funny weird dreams these few nights X)
(arghhh...) I wanted to tell you about all the dreams I had actually...
but too bad, I could only recall one.. which is the dream I had last night.. ><" It was about.. hmm An adventurous team (of course I'm one of them, but I couldn't remember who are my teammates, lol) in my grandpa's house (errr... it doesn't look like my grandpa's house at all actually.. but I just don't know why it appeared to be my grandpa's house in my mind that time)... It started with a scene of my grandpa freeing a greeny red disgusting froggie out of a cage, and our (the adventurous mighty team's) mission was to hunt the ugly toad before the sun sets..! o.O alright, catching the toad should not be a big problem but then we realised.. OMIGOSH, THE STUPID TOAD KNOWS CHINESE KUNGFU!!!

It jumped and fought with us when we tried to catch him and then quickly he leaped away..!
and so we lost him..! arghhh... this was tough man... the house was getting dimmer and dimmer. Luckily the toad was stupid enough that we could still hear his stupid endless croak though he was hiding. So we kept pin-drop silence to track him.

And finally, we met again. He performed a leapfrog attack (lol) in a sudden, and wow! luckily my response was fast enough, I did some open hand blocks and ended the combat with a rising punch counter attack, (yeah! Chinese Kungfu HUH!? LoL) [for your information, there were great graphic effects as well as sound effects in my dream during the fight, which I could hardly describe, lol..!] Hmph! then the ugly toad flew backwards and hit the door gate (oops!) His not-very-big size enabled him to pass through the locked gate but I bet it was very painful as I could see the pattern of the gate printed on his face. And now he was lying on the ground outside the house.

Yeeeha! Chinese Kungfu huh? So what! Haha...! While I was so pleased with myself for hitting him down, he suddenly jumped up, turned, looked, and winked at me, then immediately he.. LEAPED AWAY AGAIN!!! (WHAT THE!!) My heart sank deeply with my mouth opened widely when I saw him leaping away from the house infront of me. And we could no longer hear his stupid croaks.. This time was different. He was outside the house and we were all inside the house. The only way was to unlock the gate and search everywhere for the ugly toad before sun sets, but the key was with my grandpa and we clearly knew that usually these sifu(s) (kungfu masters) would only appear after the mission ends! MEANING, our mission FAILED.

The scene then changed to the next dawn which we were leaving the adventure house while the other new dumb dumb team came in, and I saw my grandpa holding the cage which looked so familiar but inside it were two Koala Bears, one big and one small. They were kinda cute, I thought, but I wondered what kungfu or what skill they had, and if they were stronger than the kungfu froggie which caused us no dinner to eat as penalty the night before.

What I heard then was a very familiar tone. It was neither the froggie's croak nor my grandpa's voice (for that he might be explainning the game rules to the new-came dummies.)
And so it was 6.03am in the morning, I woke up and stopped the alarm.
No more froggie, No more koala, and No more adventure.
It's time to go to the school.

Hillsong United - Still

Hillsong United - Still

Hide me now
Under your wings
Cover me
within your mighty hand

When the oceans rise and thunders roar
I will soar with you above the storm
Father you are king over the flood
I will be still and know you are God

Find rest my soul
In Christ alone
Know his power
In quietness and trust

A story of a little boy

(Little Boy Touches Hearts)
I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '

Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.

Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

My heart nearly stopped.

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy o tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

'I love my mommy and I wish she didn ' t have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister. '

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '

'My mommy loves white roses. '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
woman and a little girl.

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.

Was this the family of the little boy?

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
still, to this day, hard to imagine.

And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.

[Special thanks to Joanne for sending me this great story, and so I got a chance to share it here with you (",) ]

Wake up, my friend.

Just turned on my computer and wanted to post something about my orientation day in Apiit, but then something in my inbox aroused my curiosity, that was "FW: Fw: Pls respond ASAP‏"

As you can see, I still have 2211 unread mail in my inbox, but this doesn't mean I seldom check my inbox. (In fact, I check my inbox everytime when I sign in to my Windows Live Messenger, using Windows Life Today :P) It's just because I always choose e-mail to read, and to be frank, I usually don't read forwarding e-mails (especially those starting with "FW" or "FWD"), unless the topic catches my attention, and unless the content is meaningful, or else I usually won't continue reading the whole thing. And then until one day when I think they're a bit too many, I will start deleting them page by page.

Oops, I think I went a bit too far... back to the topic,
Yea... and so I clicked on the "FW: Fw: Pls respond ASAP‏", and scrolled a long way down to read the content, okay, I'll show you the content,

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi my name is Amirtha

I am 7 years old, and I have severe lung cancer ... I also have a large tumor in my brain, from repeated beatings.. Doctors say I will die soon if! this isn't fixed, and my family can't pay the bills.

The Make A Wish Foundation, has agreed to donate 7 cents for every time this message is sent on.

For those of you who send this along, I thank you so much, but for those who don't send it, what goes around comes around.Have a Heart, please send this.

Please, if you are a kind person, send this on. PLEASE HIT FORWARD BUTTON NOT REPLY BUTTON.

YOUR'S FAITHFULLY,

DEAR FRIEND,

PLEASE SEND THIS MESSAGE AS MANY TIMES AS YOU CAN. WE CAN SAVE A LITTLE ANGEL GIRL LIFE.

THANK U

GOD BLESS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

and the moment I saw this I was like "uhhh.... not this again...", I've been receiving this type of e-mail for quite a few years and the only thing changed was just their names, before this were something like Jessie Anderson, Amy Bruce, Bryan Warner etc, and now came a new name, Amirtha.

This e-mail is definitely a hoax.

Why?

1. The Make A Wish Foundation would never lend its support in such a ridiculous e-mail-based charity campaign. In fact, the organization had clarified that they do not participate in such thing and even had long-listed out some other similar hoaxes in the official website. Refer http://www.wish.org/about/chain_letters

2. If you bother to use a few minutes to check, here're some websites:
- http://www.hoax-slayer.com/amy-bruce-charity-hoax.html <- This is very well written
- http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/medical/mydek.asp
- http://chainletters.net/chainletters/amy-bruce-cancer-hoax/ <- This website is rather cute, it's the final resting place for over a thousand e-mail forwards, funnies, hoxes, jokes, surveys, and every other form of forwarded e-mail junk imaginable on the Internet. X)

and then you'll realise that often times, our compassion for the needy is ill-used, how cruel we humans are.

I know most of you might think that it's okay to simply forward these e-mails regardless if it's true or not, because if it's true, then wow, you are doing a painless great deed, pat on your back and praise yourself, well done! ; but if it's not, then it's okay also, since it's just a forwarding e-mail, and you might be thinking again, "Hello, what's wrong to forward it though I didn't know it's fake!? I could've saved a child's life by doing so you know?"

Well, I cannot say you're wrong, but I think you are wrong.
1. You didn't know you are actually generating multiplicating so called rubbish in the internet.
2. You didn't know you are actually spreading helping to spread rumours everywhere.
3. You didn't know you actually causing trouble for our charitable organizations, such as American Cancer Society and Make A Wish Foundation, for that they have to devote valuable resources to answering queries about their supposed involvement.
4. You didn't know the real identity of the child in the photograph and that her image may have been added to the hoax without the permission or knowledge of her parents.
(There's actually a photograph of a cute little indian girl attached with the e-mail above but I did not include it, and that's why I did not include it, she's innocent.)
etc.

This e-mail above was just a small case. I believe you have received quite a lot of forwarding e-mails saying something like if you don't forward this e-mail to other people, bad fortune or whatsoever will fall on you, but if you do forward, good luck will always follow you, depends on how many people you forward to. This is worse, it not only deceives, but also threatens.

So...
Please think twice before you do or trust anything, or better yet, do some research. It doesn't cost you much time to check, just simply google a few keywords and you will know if it's true or not. Why spend so much time selecting you friends' e-mail addresses to forward while you can actually do something that is much better and smarter?

p.s. Please don't get me wrong. I'm not saying that you should not forward e-mails. I mean, if it really can save or help somebody by doing so, I definitely will do whatever I can. And you should, too.

p.p.s. If an organization is willing and able to offer financial help, they will do so directly and the amount donated will not depend on the random forwarding of an email. Any message that claims an email is being tracked and that money will be donated for every forward is virtually certain to be a hoax.

Verdict:
Check if it's true before you forward any e-mail.
If you found that it's a hoax, please delete it without forwarding and ensure that you let the sender know its true status.

p.p.p.s. If you really want to help a sick child, make a donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation @ http://www.wish.org/ or alternatively, you can also always help the poor creatures who can't even voice out their rights to anyone when they are suffering @ http://spca.org.my/ (and visit also http://patapet.zeneng.net/ ! haha.. ^^)

Happy Niú Year

As title, Happy Chinese New Year..!! ^^
There are quite a few posts that I wanted to publish actually, but just didn't manage to write... (due to some "unforeseen" reasons, hah!)

Some of them are...

1. Pray for my brudder who went for plastic(oops) surgery
Haha, just kidding. Not plastic surgery lar.. =_=
It's just a normal surgery for shoulder dislocation..
In case you didn't know, his left shoulder was dislocated, and this is the fifth time.
Basketball was the cause. haha!
Anyway, thanks God, everything is okay now and he is recovering fast X)

2. Slamball
Turned on the television and found out this new team sport (erm, not really new actually, but at least it's new to me, to you also, maybe? :P)
Pressed the "info" button on the Astro Remote Control and what it showed was something like this
"Imagine a mash-up sport combining the best of basketball, football, hockey and gymnastics and you get slamball"

http://www.riminibeach.it/var/news/storage/images/media/images/slamball/81019-1-ita-IT/slamball_large.jpg
sounds cool huh? (",)
Since my bro has blogged it out,
Further details you can see here or here. ^^
Hmm.. that's all. Just feel like sharing it because it's really fresh to me, hehe..!

3. Things to ponder
- What is a "free" gift? Aren't all gifts free?
- It doesn't matter what temperature a room is, it's always room temperature.
- Why is lemon juice mostly artificial ingredients but dishwashing liquid contains real lemons?

to be continue...
